Massachusetts Masterpiece® Homeowners
- Increasing the maximum possible discount for Superior Protection from 12% to 15%
- The credit for a permanently installed back-up generator is increasing from 2% to 5%. We are also introducing the following new discount:
- 2% (component of the Superior Protection Discounts)

We are introducing a number of important changes to Chubb’s Masterpiece® homeowners policy and rating structure in the State of Massachusetts. Rates have been revised to include new and improved premium discounts and base rates have been adjusted in accordance with loss cost trends over the last few years.
Highlights of Massachusetts Masterpiece Homeowners policy changes include:
New and Improved Discounts
Gated House Discount
Applicable for a house with a perimeter gate where vehicular and pedestrian access is limited to entrances controlled by locked or electronic gates. This discount does not apply if any other Gated community discount applies.
Distance from Water Surcharge
Introducing a Distance from Water Surcharge to all House forms. The following chart outlines the surcharge based on the distance from water.

| Within 1,000 ft. | 12.0% |
| 1,001 - 2,500 ft. | 7.5% |
| 2,501 - 1 mile | 4.5% |
| Over 1 mile | 0% |
Minimum Amount of Coverage
The minimum house value of a house regardless of contents type is being increased from $20,000 to $50,000.
